Mr. Hay is Executive Director of The Office of Safe Schools for the Florida Department of Education where he has helped to implement the MARJORY STONEMAN DOUGLAS HIGH SCHOOL PUBLIC SAFETY ACT and other school safety legislation. He has a long history in law enforcement organizations including as Vice President of the National Legislative Services and Security Association (NLSSA) and Sergeant at Arms in the Florida Senate. He holds a bachelors degree in Criminology from Florida State University and a Law Enforcement Certificate from the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy.
