The Steering Committee, which oversees a portion of the Teacher Leader program, is comprised of district teachers with a wide range of experience. Jordan Dison is a third-grade, self-contained teacher at Woodland Elementary. She has been in the classroom for 11 years and recently received her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership. Jessica Laws is a kindergarten teacher at Mountain View Elementary with 18 years in elementary education. She holds a B.A. of Business Management and M.Ed in Early Childhood Education. Morgan Rankin is a third-grade teacher at South Side Elementary. She was named as Tennessee's Teacher of the Year for the 2021-2022 school year. Chad Salyer is a geometry teacher at Science Hill High School with 17 years of experience. He received a Bachelor's in mathematics, an M.Ed. in Leadership, and an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Rebecca Weems is a 13-year veteran teacher currently in fourth grade ELA at Lake Ridge Elementary. She holds a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, an M.Ed. in Reading, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership.
