Lieutenant Colonel Jerome Reitano, originally from Havertown, Pennsylvania, commissioned into the Army Aviation branch through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s ROTC in 2006. His early assignments at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, included roles as Maintenance Platoon Leader, CH-47D Flight Platoon Leader, and Flight Operations Officer, with a deployment to Pakistan as Task Force Denali Executive Officer.
Transitioning to Military Intelligence, he completed the Captains Career Course and earned his C-12 aircraft qualification. Reitano has served in diverse leadership roles, including Battalion S4 and Company Commander in Afghanistan, Brigade S3 at the National Ground Intelligence Center, and Commander of the US Army Special Operations Command Flight Company. His recent assignments include Battalion Executive Officer in South Korea, Fixed-Wing Aviation Career Manager at Fort Knox, and Professor of Military Science at Embry-Riddle.
Reitano holds a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Studies, a Master’s in Aeronautical Science, and a Doctorate in Aviation and Space Education. His military education includes multiple aviation and intelligence courses, as well as the US Army Airborne School.
His decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Master Aviator Badge, and various international parachutist badges. Reitano exemplifies a distinguished career in aviation, intelligence, and military education.
