Lisa Riegel, PhD is one of JAKAPA's founders and oversees all content creation and delivers high quality professional development and ongoing coaching for JAKAPA clients. She taught at the high school level, served as a CTE administrator and developed and taught in Ohio State's teacher leader endorsement program and principal licensure program. She has worked extensively in rural and urban areas and is an expert in trauma informed practice, organizational change, curriculum, and leadership development. She built statewide learning curriculum for career switchers earning teaching licenses and a statewide formative instructional practices online course series, managed a multi-state grant focused on equity in STEM and built resources for workforce development. She has been sought internationally for her ability to engage teams and design and implement change with fidelity. Dr. Riegel holds dual bachelor's degrees in English and Secondary Education, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from The Ohio State University. Her work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals and she has authored three books on parent engagement, leadership development and high quality assessment design.
