Beatriz's career began as a K-12 teacher in Peru and evolved into a leading figure in education technology. In the U.S., she served as a professor and administrator in higher education, and became known as an early adopter and effective designer of personalized blended and remote learning. Certified in professional development and instructional design both by the U. of Houston and HRCI, Beatriz has designed the Architecting on AWS and Advance Architecting courses for Amazon Web Services (AWS) in collaboration with AWS’ architecting experts. She has served as a global leadership development consultant for a Fortune 500 company, earning the “Maximizing Value-Added Performance” (MVP) award. As Director of IT/EdTech at Houston Independent School District (ISD), Beatriz led the implementation of one of the first large-scale K-12 digital learning programs in the U.S., where she spearheaded the creation of one of the first expansive K-12 digital libraries, setting new benchmarks in educational access and equity, and earning the IMS Global William H. Graves Leadership Award (2018). Through her consulting job with an ed tech company, she empowered education leaders across Europe, Mexico, South Africa, China, and the U.S., to embrace transformative practices in ed-tech, enhancing learning outcomes.
