Kate has experience in a variety of roles throughout her 32 year career as an educator such as a classroom teacher and secondary instructional coach. Her present and longest role is as an elementary teacher librarian. She is passionate about staying current with literacy strategies and collaborating with other educators for the benefit of her students. She has completed her LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) and OL LA (Online Language and Literacy Academy) training, blending her love for reading with her passion for assisting all readers in their journey towards literacy.
Kate has presented at notable conferences including ISTE and FETC, sharing her knowledge and experiences with fellow educators. The implementation of assistive technology in schools, enabling inclusive and accessible learning environments and professional development are areas of interest as well. She looks forward to hearing about the topics you love learning about.
