John Shoemaker is an Educational Strategist, eSports Facilitator, Futurist, Consultant, and Educational Technology Specialist for the School District of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach, Florida. He has a passion for pedagogy and technology integration, especially emerging technology. Having progressed through multiple roles over the past 22 years from classroom teacher to district administrator, he has a wide-ranging skillset that aligns to his passions. His background includes expertise in creating and implementing learning programs, courses, trainings, and workshops, along with instructional materials to facilitate participant’s ongoing learning. For the past 15 years, he has collaborated and trained teachers and administrators through professional development, coaching, online courses, and mentoring. He prides himself on supplying relevant, high-quality professional development. He serves as the eSports Facilitator for the School District, and he oversees the roll out of eSports to all schools interested in participating. He has been a lifelong gamer and has been working on Scholastic eSports for over 5 years. He was a NASEF Fellow and Mentor and on the Executive Board of SSEL.
