Joe Winslow earned a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on instructional theory and multimedia design from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Winslow has taught instructional technology courses at Coastal since 1997 and specializes in interactive multimedia development, instructional video production, and assessment technologies for professional education settings. His most recent research interests include working on the third edition of his textbook, Applied Technologies for Teachers, as well as investigating how student performance is impacted by AI generated instructional video. In addition to being a faculty member, Dr. Winslow has held multiple administrative positions at Coastal, from program coordinator to department chair to director of online learning. Off campus, Dr. Winslow is an avid surfer, windsurfer, and fisherman.
