James holds a BS in Mathematics for Teaching from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and has been teaching for the past 8 years. He has taught High School mathematics and currently teaches Middle School Mathematics.
James is a co-founder of the Western Region Middle School Esports Conference (WRMSEC), which is a coalition of teachers from various parts of the western USA. WRMSEC offers free competitions for middle schools for a variety of esports titles.
James is a member of the inaugural class of Scholastic Fellows for the North American Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF), where he has contributed and shared esports focused curriculum. He is also among the first of NASEF's Scholastic mentors and community leaders, and holds a certification from CSU Fullerton in Esports Scholastic Mentorship.
James has authored curriculum on Esports Production and Broadcasting as well as numerous CTE focused Career Development contests for the non-profit Highschool.gg.
