A veteran of Operation Desert Storm, he grew up in New Orleans, LA and taught for 22 years in Louisiana Schools. Following Desert Storm he served as a Career Counselor in the Army Reserve and was twice awarded The Army Commendation Medal and three times awarded The Army Achievement Medal. He earned a B.S. in Secondary Education from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1979 and a M.A in Education from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1986. In 2009 he earned his Doctor of Education Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Between 1986 and 2009 he acquired a Masters plus 30 in guidance and counseling. From 1992 to 2002 he taught Computer Literacy in middle school. Assembling and designing his own computer lab at night and teaching classes during the day. His school was one of only 6 middle schools in Louisiana to offer computer literacy. He also served as the school technology coordinator during that same period of time. He also taught education classes at Baptist College of Florida and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He started teaching in Florida public schools in 2015 and became a CTE teacher in 2021.
