Daniel McKeon is a seasoned educational leader with a robust background in school administration, curriculum development, and instructional leadership. Currently, he serves as Principal at Longwood Middle School in Middle Island, NY, where he has revitalized the school culture, fostered collaborative decision-making, and implemented comprehensive data-driven instructional strategies. McKeon has been instrumental in increasing student engagement and incorporating innovative changes to enhance learning outcomes. Prior, McKeon was the Superintendent of Schools for the East Moriches UFSDt, guiding the district through the COVID-19 pandemic with a commitment to maintaining in-person instruction. His tenure as Commissioner of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs for the Town of Babylon further showcased his versatile leadership and operational management skills. McKeon's educational credentials include a Post-Masters Advanced Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership from Stony Brook University, a Master’s of Science in Education with distinction from Hofstra University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany. He holds multiple certifications including School District Leader, School Building Leader, and IB Administrator.
