Carol Unterreiner teaches PLTW classes and is the department chair at Milwee Middle school in Seminole County and has over 30 years’ experience.
Carol was a member of the Discovery Channel’s teacher team and traveled the country teaching teachers how to use Discovery Channel Programming. She was a member of the ITEEA 2023-2024 21st Century Leadership team.
She has presented at regional, national, and international conferences including FEEC, ITEEA, PLTW, ISEA, NSTA, FAST, Civil Air Patrol, UCF SECME Teacher training, and TSA. Carol is advisor for Technology Student Association, Beta Club, SECME, Girl’s Engineering Breakfast Club, and Student Astronaut Challenge.
She is a member of the SWE, Magnet Schools of America, Technology Student Association, IEEE, AIAA, and ITEEA. She currently serves as treasurer for the ITEEA Secondary STEM Council. Carol has won the Time Warner Crystal Apple Award 3 times, the Brighthouse Star Award twice, The ITEEA Stem teacher of excellence award twice, the ISEA Engineering teacher of the year, Seminole County Air Force teacher of the year, and Milwee teacher of the year.
Carol holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from University of Central Florida.
