Andrew Marcinek is an accomplished IT professional with extensive experience in technology integration and digital solutions, particularly within K-12 education. With a solid foundation in leadership and strategic planning, Andrew excels in fostering continuous learning, accessibility, and inclusivity through proactive and dynamic approaches. He currently serves as an IT & EdTech Consultant for EdTech Teacher, where he leads comprehensive needs assessments, collaborates with educators and stakeholders, and ensures schools leverage cutting-edge educational technology trends.
Previously, Andrew was the Digital Learning Officer at Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, where he managed data infrastructure, implemented remote and hybrid learning strategies, and enhanced security systems. In his role as Chief Open Education Advisor at the U.S. Department of Education, Andrew advocated for open education policies and launched the #GoOpen movement, which supports PreK-12 school districts in implementing openly licensed educational materials. He organized initiatives to increase educators' curation and sharing of open educational materials nationwide.
Andrew is also an author, with his latest publication being "Teaching Digital Kindness"(Routledge, 2023). This book underscores his commitment to enhancing educational experiences through technology, promoting digital kindness, and fostering inclusive learning environments.
