Abril is a proud alumna of Chicago Public Schools and a product of the #CSforAll movement. While a CPS student, Abril founded the organization Chicago Girls in Computing to support young women in their pursuit of computing education and careers. Abril attended the University of Michigan where she received a Bachelor of Science in Information Science. She has spent the past decade working as a social entrepreneur and community organizer focused on connecting educators and business owners interested in promoting equity and inclusion in tech. Abril most recently served as the Special Projects Coordinator for the Office of Computer Science at CPS.
