January 14, 2025
NORTH 310C
Classroom Leaders
An exciting future of interconnected next-gen experiences and virtual worlds awaits us, and it will require a universal programming language to emerge—one that is scalable, open, and transparent. Introducing Verse, a new programming language that has recently been launched for Fortnite and later implemented in other Epic tools–and beyond. A few of Verse's design goals include: Simple enough to learn as a first-time programmer. General enough for writing any kind of code and data Timeless — built for the needs of today, and for foreseeable future needs, without being rooted in the past artifacts of other languages. Participants will get a quick tour of Verse's key features, see some of the interesting things you can do with it, and a look at where the language can fit in coding classes.
