Classroom Leaders
While actually failing for many years, our methods of assessment have been rendered officially obsolete with the advent of generative AI. This session explores a robust approach to remaking assessments in the Age of AI, empowering educators to challenge students' critical thinking and creativity skills in new ways, while guarding against obvious pitfalls. Drawing on insights from the classroom and emerging best practices, we'll delve into three transformative assessment frameworks: (i) AI-Guarded, (ii) AI-Enabled, and (iii) AI-Optimized. Attendees will gain practical strategies to design assessments that are grounded in cognitive science, effective pedagogy, and equity. Together, we'll reimagine assessment as a catalyst for student agency and prepare learners to thrive in an AI-driven future. This session will be tailor-made for school leaders in need of guidance on assessment in the age of AI and practical methods to retool assessment in their district.
