Neurodivergent & Thriving: The Power of Esports

January 16, 2025
EXPO HALL LEADERSHIP ROUND TABLES: BOOTH 3386
Esports Leaders
All students need a place to build community, foster friendships, and learn communication skills, but not all students develop these skills in the same fashion. Esports levels this playing field and allows students who think differently to learn and even master these skills in a way no other extracurricular or curricular activity has proven before. Esports attracts neurodivergent students due to its inherent nature of an online environment. Interaction with games requires no physical or emotional interaction with the characters making it safe for neurodivergent students to express themselves and explore new opportunities. Through scholastic esports, neurodivergent students are learning how to interact with peers, develop personal relationships, and pursue collegiate and professional career opportunities in the fastest growing industry in the nation and around the world.
