Kick the Overwhelming Out of Computer Science

January 14, 2025
SOUTH 310D

Kick the Overwhelming Out of Computer Science is an interactive session that works to tackle the challenges in computer science education. As the field stands at a critical juncture, it's essential to equip educators and students with strategies to navigate these obstacles. The session addresses issues like limited resources, the need for specialized knowledge, and the unique pressures on computer science teachers and students. With a positive job growth outlook in computer science, aligning education with workforce demands is crucial. Despite the importance, only half of high schools offer computer science, often lacking diversity. Our session will explore insights and practical solutions to enhance computer science education, aiming to create an inclusive, effective learning environment that prepares students for future opportunities in this vital field.
