In today's dynamic, underfunded digital landscape, the need for comprehensive and forward-thinking technology plans in education has never been greater. Although the mandate for districts to write technology plans for ERATE funding is no longer in place, the imperative for strategic, long-term planning persists. With the release of the National Technology Plan, which outlines high-level goals, EdTech leaders are calling for more concrete strategies to address immediate and future needs. This session brings together expert panelists to discuss "Writing a Living Technology Plan that is Aligned with the National Tech Plan."Attendees will gain valuable insights into creating dynamic and adaptable tech plans responsive to current challenges and future opportunities. With ESSR funds gone and the task of evaluating, maintaining, and sustaining devices and applications acquired during the COVID-19 pandemic, the focus will be on proactive and sustainable strategies supported by various data sources. We will delve into planning for equity and the integration of resource-heavy AI and media-rich applications, ensuring that all students have access to the latest educational technologies. Join us to explore state and local strategies and share best practices to meet today’s needs and anticipate tomorrow’s innovations. The time for action is now.
