This presentation will showcase how artificial intelligence (AI) tools can transform the Guided Inquiry Design (GID) process in the classroom. We will share our collaborative experience as a seventh-grade social studies teacher and an edtech integrator, utilizing School AI, Canva, and Book Creator to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. After providing a clear overview of the GID framework and its key phases, we will present concrete examples of how students' research skills, critical thinking, and collaboration improved through the use of School AI and Canva's image generator tool. Ultimately, students leveraged the creative potential of Canva for Education and Book Creator to produce products that highlighted their research interests and communicated their findings effectively. This presentation directly addresses the challenge of engaging students in a rigorous research framework. We will offer practical strategies and best practices for integrating artificial intelligence tools into your own inquiry/GID projects. We will demonstrate how School AI, Canva, and Book Creator can ignite student curiosity and empower them to become independent researchers, thereby overcoming the challenge of engaging students in a demanding research framework. Join us to explore how these tools can revolutionize student learning and ignite a passion for inquiry!
