Playful Learning 3.0:
Game-Based Learning in Your Classroom!
Tuesday, January 12 • 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

FETC, in partnership with Learning Games Network, BrainPOP and Dig It! Games, is pleased to offer a day of free professional development dedicated to game-based learning.

This hands-on workshop will explore tools, opportunities and strategies to effectively integrate games into teaching. A second strand, designed for more experienced gamers, will highlight techniques and new games. Attendees should plan to bring their own devices, preferably laptops and Chromebooks, but tablets and mobile phones are also acceptable. Participants may earn up to 6 hours of CEU professional development credits for attendance.

The Learning Games Network is a non-profit spin-off of the MIT Education Arcade and the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Games+Learning+Society Center. Founded in 2008, this group bridges research and practice in game-based learning research and development.

BrainPOP creates animated, curricular content that engages students, supports educators and bolsters achievement. Its award-winning online educational resources include GameUp, a cross-curricular learning games portal for the classroom, accessible at www.brainpop.com/games.

Dig-It! Games® is a mission-based company that believes in the power of game-based learning to enhance education through critical thinking, independent learning, and the joy of intellectual discovery. Its games incorporate age-appropriate content in math, science, social studies and language arts into fun, interactive learning experiences. Learn more at www.dig-itgames.com.
