MF01: An Introduction to Web Design Using Adobe's Web Site: What the Other Books Forgot
Presenter: Michael Sawyer, Simmons Career and Exceptional Center
Description: Teachers, School Technology Specialists, and District web designers will learn to use Adobe’s Fireworks, Dreamweaver and Flash to create a website from planning to posting. Participants will learn how to use Dreamweaver to create a web site directory, web pages that use layers as a layout tool, and templates to increase consistency and productivity of websites. Fireworks will be used to crop, resize, select, color, erase, adjust images and create compressed graphics to improve the overall appearance of web pages. Finally, Flash will be introduced to create simple animations and interactive menus for web pages. Participants will use the time line to animate objects, import sound, and images. This workshop is designed for the intermediate computer user with limited web design experience who wants to improve how they share information on the web, or teach their students to create projects for potential grant opportunities.

MF02: Adobe Premiere Pro and Beyond
Presenter: Joe Dockery, Mount Si High School
Description: Learn how to get the most out of Adobe Premiere Pro. You will learn how to use the multi-camera editing function, animated a multi-layered Photoshop sequence. You’ll be introduced to garbage mattes, green screen and other keying tools. This workshop will cover video effects, including controlling your effects with Key Frames, as well as covering some of the new features such as “time remapping”.

MF03: Get Your Hands on Server Setup and Configuration (Windows)
Presenter: Greg Mingo, Miami-Dade County Public Schools
Description: During this hands-on workshop participants will be introduced to the proven steps for setting up and configuring a server, then will get their hands on a server to practice what they've learned. The topics discussed will include the different configurations necessary for the following type of servers: Web, file, print, and email. Planning and implementation tips will be shared. All concepts will be explained in plain English and in ways that are easy to understand. This workshop assumes no previous server configuration experience.

MF05: Developing 21st Century Learners with Technology Rich Lessons

Description: Engaging today's students, who have grown up in the modern world of information technology, can be challenging for educators. This workshop is designed to provide educators with the technology integration skills, resource information, and curriculum ideas for the modern classroom. Participants will learn how to effectively use technological tools, including digital cameras, scanners, document cameras, interactive whiteboards, and audience response systems. Participants will also be introduced to blogs, wikis, andother Web 2.0 (collaborative) Internet-based technologies and how they can be used for project-based inquiry-guided learning.

Description: Schools all over the country are equipping their classrooms with interactive technology to enhance instruction. This workshop will include adetailed explanation of each component of an interactive classroom, a comparison of the most popular products, and research-based strategies for using each component effectively. Components to be covered in depth includeinteractive whiteboards, document cameras, digital projectors, audio amplification systems, classroom response systems, and interactive slates. The workshop will also highlight interactive Internet, curriculum, and software resources available for these components. WF53: Creating Dynamic Websites with Dreamweaver, MySQL and PHP
Presenter: Jamey Osborne, La Porte ISD, La Porte, TX
Description: Many of today’s educators desire to advance beyond basic, static web pages. Participants will learn the fundamental aspects of creating web applications that interact with databases. This workshop will take participants through a step-by-step workflow to develop dynamic websites using the PHP language to communicate with a MySQL database. Participants will configure a lab computer with PHP and MySQL, then use Dreamweaver to create a sample website which can be used as a basis for their own creation. Topics covered include: installation, querying MySQL, searching your database, creating and updating records and restricting access to parts of your site.
